And…we have drywall! The Co-op’s drywall shipment arrived on site this week and installation is underway. This is where it starts to get really fun, watching the space truly come to life. It’s been a long road to get to this point and there are still challenges to overcome and milestones to achieve. As we’ve heard from the founders of fellow co-ops, the start-up process isn’t for the faint of heart. Luckily, we are anything but faint of heart here in Western New York. We’ve seen delays and we’ve faced challenges, but we move forward every day together.

We use that word together a lot. By together we mean together with the full Co-op community because the success of the project depends on commitment at all levels: member-owners, volunteers, managers, our landlord, contractors, suppliers, partners, and the elected Board of Directors. Looking for a way to become even more involved? A great way to help guide the development and growth of the co-op is to serve on the nine-member Board. The East Aurora Co-op is currently seeking potential candidates to run for and fill three open three-year seats. If you’re interested in learning more, please plan on attending the informal Meet the Board event at Taste, 634 Main St. in East Aurora on Wednesday, January 27 from 6:00-8:00 PM. We’ll see you there!
