Personal Statement:
My family and I have lived in East Aurora for nearly 3 years and I’m a father of two daughters who attend daycare in the village. I work for the Police Executive Research Forum, a non-profit organization that conducts research and provides training and technical assistance opportunities for local law enforcement agencies across the country.
My wife and I often shop at the East Aurora Co-op Market (EACM). We love what the EACM has to offer its members and how it contributes to the village’s unique identity. Since moving here, I’ve hoped to become more involved in the community. After speaking with current and previous board members, I see board service as a meaningful way to contribute. I would welcome the opportunity to support EACM’s principles and values and help maintain its role as a community resource.
Questions and Answers:
- What role do you think the EACM will play in East Aurora’s future?
The EACM should continue to provide healthy, local food to East Aurora and be a place where members can conveniently purchase new and affordable food and beverages. The EACM should remain a community hub, where villagers can take pride in being shoppers and members. - In what ways are you working to contribute to and improve the East Aurora community?
As a relatively new resident to East Aurora, I’m looking for ways to be a productive and positive member of our community. I try to be a helpful and conscientious neighbor and I would love an opportunity to contribute more to our community. - If you can find healthy, organic food at another grocery store, why choose the East Aurora Co-op Market?
When I go to the Co-op, I feel like I’m doing more than just shopping at the grocery store. The EACM is a part of the village’s identity, so I feel like a member of a unique community, and that my dollars stay in WNY and help local growers and businesses. - Which of the 10 cooperative values resonates with you most and why?
Social responsibility resonates with me most. The choices we make, whether it’s in how we work, raise our families, and engage with others should contribute to a healthier, helpful, and more equitable society and environment.
