JOINT PRESS RELEASE
November 30, 2023
This fall, the East Aurora Co-op Market partnered with Providence Farm Collective for their Round Up at the Register Initiative. From September through November, co-op shoppers had the option to support Providence Farm Collective by rounding up their total purchase. Through the co-op community’s generosity, a grand total of $5,062.79 was raised.
Providence Farm Collective’s mission is cultivating farmer-led and community-rooted agriculture and food systems to actualize the rights of under-resourced peoples. PFC is the only non-profit in Western New York that directly supports our communities with access to rural farmland, farming and business education, technical assistance, markets, and the opportunity to farm for income. Through its programs, PFC helps to uplift the next generation of diverse agricultural entrepreneurs and community farmers with an emphasis on promoting self-sufficiency and advancing ecological and human health. PFC is immensely grateful for the overwhelming support that the East Aurora Cooperative Market community has shown. Their kindness changes lives! These funds will empower PFC to expand their efforts to serve under-resourced individuals with better access to food and farmland.
