The East Aurora Cooperative Market, a startup retail food cooperative, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, visionary leader and team-builder to be our General Manager. Reporting to the board 0f directors under Policy Governance, the GM is responsible for the overall operations of a retail grocery store. The co-op is scheduled to open in summer 2015, currently has over 1,000 member-owners and is working with NCGA DC (National Cooperative Grocers Association Development Cooperative).
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience managing a retail food store (grocery or co-op experience preferred). He or she must demonstrate expertise in operating, capital and cash budgeting and a significant degree of market and marketing savvy. A successful candidate should also be passionate and committed to establishing the East Aurora Cooperative Market as a thriving local business that will strengthen our neighboring food systems, community and economy.
