East Aurora Cooperative Market Annual Meeting and Elections
Thursday, May 29, 2014, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
East Aurora Middle School Cafeteria
430 Main Street, East Aurora NY
Kindly RSVP to: [email protected]

We have a lot to celebrate and a lot to do! Come and socialize with your fellow member-owners, meet our board candidates, exercise your democratic member control by casting your vote (see details below), learn about our accomplishments this past year, as well as our plans, goals AND how your input will help shape the co-op as we prepare to open our doors!

In the spirit of cooperation and bringing this to fruition – together – we’re seeking your participation during the annual meeting in two ways:

  • First, we invite you (although this is not required) to bring a snack or dessert to share (finger food only, please). The board will supply the beverages.
  • Second, after the formal presentations, your input will be sought both during a question and answer period and also through information gleaned from a “wish list” we’re putting together. Your input will help with planning the store so it reflects the membership at large.

Here’s a quick peek at the agenda for the evening:

6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Check in, socialize and enjoy refreshments, meet candidates, vote
7:00 – 7:30 p.m. Formal presentations (President, Treasurer, Project Manager, Nominations)
7:30 – 7:50 p.m. Question and answer period
7:50 – 8:15 p.m. Gathering member-owner input on how to make the East Aurora Cooperative Market your community grocery store!
8:15 – 8:30 p.m. More socializing and voting

How the elections process works:

Ballots were mailed to all member-owners. Member-owners will be allowed to cast ballots over a period of time and are given the option of delivering their ballot in person at the co-op office during Mini Market hours, returning their ballot via mail or delivering their ballot during the Annual Meeting. The voting period ends at the end of the Annual Meeting.

Throughout the voting period ballots will be kept in a secure location and in the sealed envelope they were mailed/submitted in. Ballots will be counted the day after the Annual Meeting in the Co-op office. The Ballot counting date and time will be publicized, and the Elections committee will perform the count. Member-owners are invited to observe the tally, candidates may also observe.
