Community owned. Member-owner. One share, one vote. What does it mean? The co-op is different from other grocery stores, because it is owned and governed by the members who shop at the store. Here are the nuts and bolts:

  • ‘Joining’ means becoming an owner by purchasing a share of the business. You’ll only join once, and there are no annual or additional costs. Your ownership lasts as long as you shop at EACM.
  • Owners enjoy discounts, owner-only specials, and dividends during profitable years.
  • The store exists solely to meet the needs of owners and the community – the executives and shareholders at the co-op are right there with you in the grocery aisles because they live in our community.

To top it all off, co-op owners play a proud part in our local food community, supporting local farmers and small producers right here in WNY. Learn more about ownership, benefits and how to join here. Read about why the folks above love co-op ownership on our Facebook page!
