The East Aurora Co-op welcomed 15 new members last night at the Elm Street Bakery during their Pizza Party, which brings the total number of member-owners to 580, just 20 shy of their current goal.
The event was also a chance for the Elm Street Bakery to show off their brick-oven pizzas, which were delicious!
(I also snagged a ginger cookie on my way out–it was calling to me–and I was not disappointed!) If you’re a fan of ginger/molasses cookies this time of year (or really ANY time of year), get thee to the bakery ASAP!
A tally was kept during the event and updated each time a new member signed up–it was so neat to see the number go up and up and up!
Earlier in the day, Daniel Roelofs from Arden Farms set-up in front of the co-op office to showcase his supply of local pork.
He cooked sausage and swiss chard outside, right on Main Street (!) and offered passers-by tastes of his wares.
Arden Farms’ produce and pork are available at the co-op office from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays.
